Welcome to the NOMIS Center for the Cognitive Foundations of Economics

We are pleased to an­nounce the launch of the NOMIS Cen­ter for the Cog­ni­tive Foun­da­tions of Eco­nom­ics at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Zurich. Sup­port­ed by the NOMIS Foun­da­tion, the Cen­ter aims to deep­en our un­der­stand­ing of the cog­ni­tive foun­da­tions of eco­nom­ic be­hav­ior and de­ci­sion-mak­ing.

Led by Pro­fes­sor Thomas Grae­ber, it in­ves­ti­gates how com­plex­i­ty, at­ten­tion, and bound­ed ra­tio­nal­i­ty shape hu­man choic­es—us­ing large-scale ex­per­i­ments, field data, and mod­ern an­a­lyt­i­cal tools to un­cov­er the mech­a­nisms be­hind eco­nom­ic be­hav­ior.
